Terms & Conditions

Information on how to enter forms part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in the 2026 Ultimate Explorer Giveaway (“Competition”) constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Competition Period 

  • The Competition commences at 06:00pm (AEST) Thursday, 22 October 2026
  • The Competition ends at 11:59pm (AEST) on Wednesday, 9 December 2026

Eligibility

  • Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over.
  • Employees, contractors and immediate family members of the Promoter, participating prize providers and agencies directly associated with the Competition are ineligible to enter.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence.

Selection of Winner(s): 

  • The prize winner will be selected at random by the Promoter at 12:00 pm (AEDT) on Thursday, 10 December 2026.
  • The winner will be notified by email. The winner’s name may also be published on the Victoria’s Heartland website and associated social media channels.
  • If the winner does not respond by 9:00 am (AEDT) on Tuesday, 15 December 2026, the Promoter reserves the right to conduct a redraw.

Prize

The 2026 Ultimate Explorer Giveaway brings together accommodation, dining, wellness, wine, retail, heritage and tourism experiences across Victoria’s Heartland.

The total prize value is $5,354.

Prize values are correct at the time of publication and are based on the values supplied by the participating prize providers.

Entry

  1. This Competition is a game of chance. The winner will be selected at random by the Promoter using a random selection generator.
  2. To enter, eligible persons must submit their details through the Victoria’s Heartland website at:

  3. Entrants will be required to provide information including, but not limited to, their name, phone number, email address and postcode.
  4. By selecting Subscribe on the entry form, entrants consent to receiving news, updates and promotional communications from Victoria’s Heartland. Entrants may unsubscribe at any time.
  5. Each eligible entrant may submit one valid entry during the Competition Period.
  6. Entries must be received during the Competition Period. Entries are deemed to be received at the time they are recorded in the Promoter’s database.
  7. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted or misdirected entries, or entries not received due to technical disruptions, network congestion or any other reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter.
  8. Incomplete, indecipherable or fraudulent entries will be deemed invalid.
  9. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants, including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence.
  10. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that does not comply with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process.
  11. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  12. The cost of accessing the promotional website will depend on the entrant’s internet service provider.
  13. The use of automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an entrant to enter repeatedly is prohibited. All entries submitted using such methods will be deemed invalid.

Prize Draw and Notification

  1. The winner will be randomly drawn at 12:00 pm (AEDT) on Thursday, 10 December 2026.
  2. The winner will be notified in writing via the email address provided with the winning entry.
  3. All reasonable attempts will be made to contact the winner.
  4. If the winner does not respond by 9:00 am (AEDT) on Tuesday, 15 December 2026, the Promoter reserves the right to conduct a redraw.
  5. If required, any redraw will be conducted at 12:00 pm (AEDT) on Tuesday, 15 December 2026, using the same random selection process as the original draw.
  6. When contacted, the winner will be required to confirm eligibility and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Prize Conditions

  1. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
  2. Individual prize components cannot be exchanged for cash, credit or alternative goods or services.
  3. Prize reservations and bookings are subject to availability and any conditions, exclusion dates, booking requirements or operating schedules imposed by the relevant prize provider.
  4. Images are indicative only. Accommodation, room décor, styling and views may vary from those shown in campaign materials.
  5. The winner is responsible for contacting each prize provider and arranging the redemption or booking of each prize component.
  6. The Maryborough Railway Station tour and Central Goldfields Art Gallery tour may be booked and enjoyed separately.
  7. Unless otherwise specified by an individual prize provider, prize components must be booked and redeemed within 12 months of the prize draw.
  8. Blackout periods, public holidays, weekends, school holidays, special events or other restrictions may apply to individual accommodation, dining and experience prizes.
  9. Travel to and from Victoria’s Heartland, transport between prize locations and any other travel-related expenses are not included.
  10. Unless expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions, meals, beverages, transfers, spending money, insurance, taxes and other expenses associated with accepting or redeeming the prize are the responsibility of the winner.
  11. Any person accompanying the winner is responsible for their own expenses unless an inclusion is expressly stated as being for two or more people.
  12. Alcoholic prize components will only be provided to persons aged 18 years or over. Proof of age may be required.
  13. If a prize or prize component becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute it with a prize of equal or greater value, subject to any applicable regulatory requirements.
  14. Prize values are based on the recommended retail values supplied by the prize providers at the time of publication and include GST where applicable.
  15. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any change in prize value between the publication date and the prize redemption date.
  16. Prize components will be provided directly to the winner by the relevant prize providers.
  17. Once a prize booking or redemption has been arranged, the winner will be subject to the booking conditions, cancellation policies and terms of service of the relevant prize provider.
  18. All correspondence concerning the booking, amendment, cancellation or redemption of an individual prize component will be between the prize provider and the winner.
  19. The Promoter is not responsible for replacing lost, stolen, expired or unused vouchers or prize certificates.
  20. The Promoter and prize providers reserve the right to refuse service or cancel a booking where the winner or an accompanying guest fails to comply with the prize provider’s reasonable terms, policies or instructions.

Australian Consumer Law and Limitation of Liability

  1. The Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), as well as other laws in Australia, may imply certain conditions, warranties and undertakings and provide entrants with other legal rights. Where these rights apply, they cannot be modified or excluded by contract.
  2. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy conferred by Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
  3. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter and participating prize providers exclude liability for any loss, damage or injury arising from or connected with the Competition or the acceptance, booking or use of the prize.
  4. Subject to applicable law, the Promoter is not responsible for:
    1. technical difficulties, website outages or equipment malfunctions;
    2. theft, unauthorised access or third-party interference;
    3. entries or prize claims that are late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected;
    4. variations in the value of the prize;
    5. tax liabilities incurred by an entrant or winner;
    6. changes to a prize provider’s operating hours, availability or services; or
    7. loss, damage or injury connected with the acceptance or use of a prize.
  5. Entrants and winners should obtain their own independent advice concerning any tax, travel, health, accessibility or other personal implications associated with accepting or redeeming the prize.

Privacy

  1. Personal information collected through the Competition will be used to administer the Competition, verify entries, contact and announce the winner, deliver the prize and undertake related activities.
  2. The Promoter may disclose the winner’s personal information to participating prize providers where reasonably necessary to arrange prize delivery, bookings or redemption.
  3. Entrants’ personal information may also be disclosed to organisations assisting the Promoter with administering the Competition and to regulatory or government authorities where required by law.
  4. Entrants may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe facility provided in the communication.
  5. The Promoter will manage personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and its applicable privacy policy.

General Conditions

  1. If the Competition cannot be conducted as planned due to circumstances beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter reserves the right to modify, suspend, terminate or postpone the Competition, subject to any applicable laws or regulatory requirements.
  2. The Promoter’s decision regarding any aspect of the Competition is final, subject to applicable law.
  3. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
  4. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
