In Maryborough, Central Goldfields Art Gallery, set in a transformed former fire station, includes permanent and touring collections, while Castlemaine Art Gallery & Museum has a unique collection of Australian art, First Nations cultural material and artefacts reflecting the early history of the region. Lovers of the natural world should visit Bullarto Gallery, where landscape artist Phillip Edwards works and shows his paintings.
