Market driven

Lovers of art and the handmade should ensure they visit the region’s markets. At Castlemaine Artists Market (fourth Sunday of each month), the best art and design talent in the region produces a huge range of products from handcrafted leather goods to timber homewares.

Every week, Daylesford Sunday Market features about 130 stalls everything from farm produce to vintage bric-à-brac. You’ll also find crafts, jewellery, fashion and more created by local makers.

The Clunes Farmers and Makers Market (second Sunday of the month) brings together a mix of artisanal food producers, seasonal growers, and locally based artists and makers. It’s a similar vibe at Talbot Farmers Market (third Sunday of the month), with seasonal fruit and organic vegetables, fresh bread and baked goods, local wines, gins and craft beers, gourmet oils, cheese, nuts, sweet treats and many other artisan food products.
