Located in the magnificent Market Building circa 1862, the Castlemaine Visitor Information Centre is a great place to begin your exploration of this diverse region.

Offering all the latest information on attractions, accommodation, tours and services, it is open every day of the year except Christmas Day. The friendly staff and volunteers provide local knowledge, informative brochures and maps and are able to book your accommodation or tours on the spot.

Regardless of whether it is your first visit to the region or you are a regular, a visit to the Market Building is well worth your while. Displaying regular exhibitions throughout the year, highlights include art exhibitions that showcase the latest offerings from talented local creatives, local community displays and the permanent Boorp Boorp Boondyil exhibition celebrating Djaara culture.

The Castlemaine Visitor Information Centre also stocks fine locally produced merchandise plus souvenirs and gifts to provide a memento of your stay in Central Victoria.
