Central Goldfields Visitor Centre is located in the historic Maryborough Railway Station and offers a full range of guides, maps and brochures for Maryborough and surrounding areas.
Enjoy the immersive digital amination of local history and test the items from your pockets on the Worth its Weight in Gold scale. See the life-size model of the Welcome Stranger gold nugget (72 kilograms) - the largest alluvial nugget ever found.
The friendly staff can assist you with accommodation and dining guides, self-guided tour brochures, a weekly What's On list, local Parks and Wildlife Information and maps.
You'll find a full range of souvenirs, postcards, locally made products and hand-crafted artisan items. Peruse the selection of books and publications on the history of Maryborough and surrounding villages, all at very reasonable prices
Inquiries for local prospecting maps and assistance to purchase Victorian miners' rights on the internet are welcome.
Join a guided tour of the historic station on Saturday mornings at 11.00am. Additional tours may be booked on request. Walking tours and a hop-on-bus guide for groups are also available by appointment.
Maryborough Station is fully operational with regular Vline services to and from Melbourne. Vline timetables provide same-day-return trip options. In addition to the Visitor Centre, the Station Café Restaurant and Bar is also located at the station.
