Lake Daylesford is the heart and soul of the Daylesford township.

Situated just a short distance from the town centre, it's a lovely spot to while away an hour or two and offers something to entertain everyone. Children will love bird spotting, watching the resident ducks, and the waterside playground. There's also a small beach area suitable for paddling in summer.

Visitors of all ages will love doing the Peace Mile Walk around the circumference of the lake. This compacted gravel track covers 2.8 kilometres and takes approximately 40 minutes to complete. Extend your walk by doing a section of the Goldfields Track between Lake Daylesford and Twin Bridges. Follow the signs from the spillway down to Central Springs Reserve and continue along Wombat Creek.

Afterwards, make use of the barbeque facilities, grab a coffee and light lunch from Walters 3460 cafe, or settle in for a more substantial meal at the Boathouse Restaurant.

Don't forget to taste the famous mineral water at Wombat Flat Mineral Spring and Central Springs Reserve.

Lake Daylesford is a manmade lake and was designed by Walter Burley Griffin. Originally a series of gold diggings, construction of the lake as you see it today began in 1927 and it continues to be used for many recreational activities.
