The Roam Discovery Trail invites visitors to uncover the stories, people and places that shaped this region. Hanging Rock has long drawn people in - follow a self-guided journey where history comes to life through interactive experiences, augmented reality and immersive storytelling.

Follow the trail through the landscape and discover stories of Traditional Owners, flora and fauna, recreation, horses and gold rush history, alongside the iconic mystery the Rock is famous for. Step into a landscape where nothing is quite as it seems, and where ancient geology meets magnetic mystery. Along the way, hear stories of vanishing schoolgirls, rare plants and wildlife, bushrangers, UFOs, and kangaroos invading race day. An augmented reality re-creation of an ambushed Gold Escort, offers a chance to climb into the wagon and unlock the strongbox to discover hidden gold.

The trail starts at Hanging Rock's Meeting Point below the cafe and across from the main car park. Allow up to two hours for the overall experience.
