Wheels and Wattle is Maryborough Rotary Club's inaugural weekend cycling event, bringing riders, families and visitors together for a spring weekend in Victoria's Heartland.

Held over the AFL Grand Final weekend, the event takes its name from Maryborough's much loved Wattle Festival of years gone by. By late September, local wattle and surrounding canola fields are in bloom, creating a distinctly seasonal backdrop that reflects the rhythms of regional life.

Across two days, Wheels and Wattle offers a range of non competitive cycling experiences, including on road and mixed surface rides along quiet country roads, gravel tracks, farmland and bushland. Routes draw on local knowledge to showcase the landscapes and stories of the Central Goldfields, with ride options suited to gravel bikes, mountain bikes and hybrids.

Princes Park, located close to the Maryborough town centre, will serve as the event hub. With open lawns, shaded areas and nearby amenities, it provides a relaxed and welcoming place for riders, supporters and visitors to gather, enjoy local food, and share in the easy pace of a spring weekend.

Designed as a family friendly regional event, Wheels and Wattle reflects the cooperation, care and country hospitality that define Victoria's Heartland.

Whether you are riding, cheering on friends or planning a spring escape, Wheels and Wattle offers an authentic regional experience shaped by landscape, season and community connection.
